The Air Force had imported Arkansas razorbacks to the base to kill rattlesnakes. And as I remember the razorbacks had become little overpopulated. When I was little back on the farm, we had a huge pig named Elmer. Elmer’s favorite thing to do was to chase me to a crab apple tree back behind our barn. There was a low limb so I could swing up into the tree out of Elmer’s reach. Then he would sit and watch me to make sure I wasn’t going anywhere.
