It depends on what you mean by good PR. Messi doesn’t use Twitter and his Instagram seems like it’s mostly for his friends and family, plus a Cat Knight Shirt he’s in that he’s likely contractually obligated to post. He does very little, if anything, to “build his brand.” He could use social media to make himself more money and make himself more marketable – like it seems most footballers do. It’s like any regular person’s Instagram, if not duller – nice dinners out with the wife, kids and dogs acting cute, a few pictures of him in training and playing in a match with no additional comments, and pictures if he wins some sort of trophy. Maybe this is some sort of 5D chess, and his brand is that he is the world’s most boring celebrity, who knows.
